XC: Hockaday Runs Away With James Smith Invitational Title

Led by two sophomores and two freshman, Dallas The Hockaday School crushed the field in the 5A-6A girls race of the James Smith Invitational in Midlothian on Thursday, September 2, scoring 23 points and winning by 37 over the meet host.  

Sophomore Margaret Thompson won by less than four tenths of a second with a time of 18:23.37.

Senior Leena Mehendale was fourth overall in 19:39.37, followed by sophomore Jordan Lacsamana, sophomore Gracie Little and freshman Madalena Ritz-Meuret to round out the Daisies' scoring runners. 

Mehendale stopped the clock in 19:39.37 as Lacsamana and Little finished within a second of each other in 19:59.90 and 20:00.94.

Also competing for the Daisies were:

22:26.94 - Lola Isom, junior
23:09.83 - Cici Sprouse, senior
24:11.38 - Sophia Fowler, sophomore
