Concordia Captures Prep Title (Austin American Statesman, Saturday, February 19, 1966)

The Concordia Cardinals won their 12th consecutive game and clinched the Texas Preparatory League title by beating the Allen Academy Ramblers, 72-38.

Concordia, with one game left Tuesday at San Marcos Academy, has passed through the league race with a 9-0 record and are 20-5 for the year.  Allen is 0-8 in league action.

Richard Pieplow hit 56 percent of his shots to pace the Cardinals to the easy victory.  Pieplow scored 18 points on eight of 15 field goal attempts.  The Cardinals as a team hit 48 per cent of their attempts from the floor.

Concordia took a 12-point lead after the first period and rolled along undistributed for the remainder of the game.  Allen hit in double figures only in the final quarter and scored 14 points.
