Laneri is the proud holder of its first Southwest Academic League football title Saturday, after roaring from behind to down Boys Ranch, 33-26, Friday night at Bedford.
Boys Ranch took a 13-point lead, but was unable to hang on in the wild offensive flurry which highlighted the final furious minutes of play.
Bobby Faust scored for Laneri in the first quarter to trim the Boys Ranch margin, then Bob Cunningham and Charles Carminati tallied to put the Micks ahead, 26-19.
Maurice Woodworth tied the score for Boys Ranch, 26-26, but the Micks were not to be denied. Bob McNevins snared Jimmy O'Brien's six-yard jump pass for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to climax the Laneri bid.
