San Antonio, Texas, March 5 (AP) -- Substitute Charles Ledford scored six points in an overtime period to lead Central Catholics of San Antonio to the State Catholic High School Basketball championship.
The Buttons beat St. Edward's of Austin, 52-44.
Earlier, Cathedral of El Paso beat Jesuit (Dallas), 55-43, for third place and Price Memorial (Amarillo) bested St. Thomas (Houston), 48-47, for the consolation title.
Selected for the all tournament team were forwards Tony Specia, Central Catholic, and Larry Magner, Jesuit; Centers Richard Juen, El Paso; Paul Carson, St. Edward's; Guards Jimmy Korn, Central Catholic; George Pappas, St. Edward's and Don Stump, Amarillo.
