LSCSN News and Notes; June 7, 2021

+  The Bullard Brook Hill School announced today via Twitter that Billie Walley will leave Rusk as its volleyball coach after seven years - with a stop at Jacksonville prior - to become the girls athletic coordinator for volleyball, basketball and softball.

+  The Texas Longhorns, who are now 45-15 after their 12-2 win on Sunday over Fairfield to go through the Austin Regional undefeated, will face the winner of the Gainesville Regional - which will be decided between South Florida and South Alabama in the Super Regional.  The Longhorns have a roster where features the following Texas private and parochial athletes:

IF Dylan Campbell, Freshman, Houston Strake Jesuit
RHP/IF Tanner Witt, Freshman, Bellaire Episcopal
IF Peter Geib, Redshirt Sophomore, Bellaire Episcopal
LHP Sam Walbridge, Redshirt Freshman, San Antonio St. Mary's Hall
IF Zach Zubia, Redshirt Junior, Houston Strake Jesuit

Zubia, hitting .309 on the season, was 1-6 in the win over Fairfield.  Campbell pinch hit, going 0-1, and came into play left field.

+  Over the weekend, Midland Christian School earned a spot in 2021 Texas 7-on-7 State Tournament, to be held June 24-26 at Veterans Park in College Station.  After knocking off the likes of San Angelo Central, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, Abilene Cooper and Wichita Falls, the Mustangs will compete in Division I.  The only other private school to earn a spot is The Woodlands Christian Academy.

+  Tyler All Saints Episcopal's Blake Lin added a pair of extra points in the Red All-Stars' 22-21 win over the Blue All-Stars on Saturday in the 10th Annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Heart of a Champion Bowl in Tyler.

+  The second edition of Grapevine Faith Christian boys head basketball coach Matt Sayman's new podcast, "Just A Matter Of Doing it", dropped on Monday, June 7, with Point Guard College's Tyler Coston.

+  Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal School has shared that 37-year-old Mattie Parker, the newly elected mayor of Fort Worth to become one of the youngest mayors of a major American city, is the parent of two youngsters who attend their school.  Congratulations Ms. Parker!
