XC: Denton Calvary Prep's Girls Take Third in Denton Ryan's Gingerbread Jamboree

Denton Calvary Prep's girls, led by senior Sarah Quintanilla, took third place in Thursday's Denton Ryan's Gingerbread Jamboree to lead all private and parochial school performers at the meet's highest level races.

Quintanilla posted a 5K time of 21:19.77 to lead all private school girls as she was third overall individually.

Junior teammate Avery Junk was in fifth with a time of 21:32.43 while senior Angel Stewart was in 11th in 22:03.83.

One spot behind, in twelth, was Founders Classical Academy of Frisco junior Natalia Arguelles with a mark of 22:05.34.

Fort Worth Christian and Plano Prestonwood Christian Academy also had runners competing.  

The Cardinals' top runner was junior Hannah Eller in 57th place in 24:40.96, while the Lions were led by freshman Audra Lee who was seven places back in 25:07.95.

The boys were led by Plano Prestonwood Christian Academy sophomore Ben Bower, who was 12th overall with a 5K time of 17:46.47.  Denton Calvary Christian senior Caleb Ferguson and Fort Worth Christian freshman Hunter Hinrichsen held spots in the top 25 in 22nd and 25th places with times of 18:14.36 and 18:18.13, respectively.

Prestonwood Christian Academy was the only boys team to score, finishing 13th.

In the JV races, Addison Trinity Christian girls were third overall while the boys were sixth out of 12 and 16 teams scoring, respectively.  Founders Classical Academy of Frisco was tenth in the girls race.

Individually, in the boys race, Addison Trinity Christian seniors Luke Townley and Ryan Freese were fourth and fifth in times of 19:06.07 and 19:10.49 over the 5K distance.  Founders Classical Academy of Frisco's first runner was sophomore Justin Johnson in 38th in 21:19.68.

Four private school girls were in the top 15 of the JV race.  Founders Classical Academy of Frisco freshman Aniaya Lugo and Addison Trinity Christian senior Rachel Mills were fifth and sixth, respectively, in 23:25.87 and 23:33.67.  TCA also had senior Emily Jones and junior Kate Solomon in 9th and 13th with times of 24:14.87 and 25:03.76.
