+ LSCSN wishes to extend its condolences to the family of former Richardson Canyon Creek Christian, Rockwall Christian Academy and Dallas Covenant School baseball coach Dr. Gerald Palmer, who passed away on Monday, June 21 in Dallas.  Including Doyline High School in Louisiana, Palmer took three of those schools to the state Final Four and won two state championships and was a seven-time District Coach of the Year.

+ Fort Bend Christian Academy senior-to-be and Oklahoma verbal commit Avery Hodge was named on Friday to represent the United States as a member of the 2021 USA Softball U-18 Junior Women's National Team that will compete at the World Baseball Softball Confederation U-18 Cup in Lima, Peru August 28 - September 5 and the Junior Pan American Games in Barranquilla, Columbia November 25 - December 5.  She'll be joined by fellow Texans Olivia Johnson from Pearland Dawson, Mia Scott of Angleton and Keely Williams of Converse Judson.

+ Rosehill Christian School announced via its Facebook feed Friday morning that it has hired former Waller head football coach Jim Phillips as their new head football coach.  The school said that "we look forward to the positive impact he will have on our Rosehill community!"

+ Houston The Kinkaid School alum Raevyn Rogers also just ran a SB 1:59.66 in the 800 meters at the USA Track & Field Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, OR.  Rogers was second in her heat behind Ajee Wilson and will compete vs. Aggie sensation Athing Mu in Sunday's finals.

+ Houston Strake Jesuit alum Matthew Boling just ran 20:47 for the first round of 200 meters competition at the USA Track & Field Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, OR.  Boling was second in his heat and had the 9th fastest time of the 16 qualifiers for tomorrow's semis.

+ Rosehill Christian alum Wayne McCullough, per the JCK Sports Group, said on Thursday that he was making an "unprecedented move from Finland straight to a Turkish BSL Playoff team and Champions League regular season participant next year!"  He signed with Darussafaka after posting 17.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in the Finnish League.

+ Temple Central Texas Christian athletic director Leif Johnston is looking for a scrimmage for Friday, August 20.  His Twitter account is @Leifj4.

+ Dallas St. Mark's School of Texas alum Harrison Ingram '21 was named to the USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup Team Thursday night.  Team USA will be competing in Latvia for the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup that will be played from July 3 to July 11.  Ingram will join fellow Texans Kenneth Lofton Jr. (Louisiana Tech/Port Arthur) and Mike Miles (TCU/Lancaster).

+ Waco Parkview Christian's C.J. Lanehart was named the Waco Tribune-Herald's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Friday while Waco Eagle Christian's Tiana Easton and Waco Reicher's Mason McHugh also earned places on the newspaper's Super Centex All-Academic Team.

+ Fort Worth Lake Country Christian alum Michael Yow ‘16 was one of three Wake Forest Outdoor Track and Field athletes selected to the 2021 All-ACC Academic Team.  Yow finished his graduate season earning All-ACC Second Team honors for the hammer throw.  He also owns the second-best hammer toss in Wake Forest history.  To be selected, Michael had to maintain a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career.

+ Plano John Paul II varsity assistant tennis coach Sally Frame was promoted to the head coach position on Wednesday, taking the place of Skip Parker who was retiring.  Frame was an intergral part in assisting the Cardinals to district titles in 2019 and 2021 and has a decorated 30-year career supporting tennis as a coach, teacher, tournament director and community volunteer.  Read John Paul II's complete release here.  

+ League City Bay Area Christian saw pitcher Amanda Pollock named to the Galveston County Daily News' All-Galveston County 2021 high school softball teams while catcher Emma Iles and infielder Gracie Ramibin were honorable mention selections.
